Nad-Ned*: Crochet Passages explores the intricate interplay between materials, movement, and time. Crochet, with its interwoven threads, symbolizes the connection between past and present, tradition and innovation. The material personifies the site, whether in a built environment or the desert, reflecting the ever-shifting landscapes of our lives and serving as a reminder that challenges are ever-present yet perspectives are in flux. The somatic movements experienced by viewers mirror the gentle sway of swings. Through this tapestry of crochet sculptural swings, shifting environments, and embodied experiences, Nad-Ned provides a space to reflect on life’s transitions and serves as a reminder of the hope embedded in repair and renewal. Nad-Ned captures the ebb and flow of our emotional journeys, embodying the passage of time and the cycles of joys and tribulations.
“As an artist with a background in fashion design, my medium of choice—yarn, buttons, and threads—transforms the conventional into the captivating. I craft swings that transcend their functional purpose, evolving into lively, metaphorical textile canvases. The lobby of the Textile Building, surrounded by numerous textile vendors, offers the perfect backdrop for my creations, seamlessly complementing the vibrant textures and colors of my work. I am thrilled to showcase my unique blend of art in this prestigious space, where my swings will add dynamic elegance and a sense of healing to the surroundings.
“In Nad-Ned, I invite you to explore a journey of introspection and inspiration. Through a tapestry of colors and textures, I hope this resonates with your own experiences and emerge with a renewed sense of hope and possibility. Just as a swing reaches its apex after each descent, life too offers the promise of renewal and ascent.”

Crochet Passages video
The video slowly glides through the intricate weave of crochet, as if the viewer is being gently pulled into the very threads themselves. The yarn, soft yet unyielding, shifts from the muted tones of black and white to bursts of vibrant color, mirroring the quiet interplay of stillness and life’s vivid pulse. The camera’s motion sways like a pendulum, inviting into a dreamlike state, as though one is cradled within the folds of the yarn itself. Light and shadow dance along the fibers, whispering of calm and inviting reflection, while the colors ripple through the frame.
Each crocheted swing becomes a lifeline, a connection to generations of women who, with each stitch, spun their stories into the tapestry of time. The shift from black yarn to colored thread is more than a visual contrast; it is the embodiment of emotion—joy, melancholy, hope. Every color tells a tale, every stitch is a meditation on life’s complexities. To drift within this yarn is to feel the pulse of shared stories, the strength of hands working through loss and celebration, the intimacy of crafting something both fragile and enduring to cultivate universal resilience.
Nad-Ned Video Featured on ZAZ Corner’s In Between | Sept 26 - Oct 23, 2024
The exhibition also features Nad-Ned video art by Nitay Dagan and Yuval Kella in collaboration with Inbal Wolf on the ZAZ Corner’s In Between Programming. The collaboration between Nitay Dagan and Yuval Kella adds a dynamic visual layer to Wolf’s work, enhancing her exploration of movement, time, and introspection. The artwork is displayed for 15 seconds at a time on a large LED billboard in the heart of Times Square. Location: 41st Street and 7th Avenue, New York, NY.
Nad-Ned, draws inspiration from the desert landscape—Wolf’s creative habitat—transforming it into a space of renewal and reflection. The desert became her 'open studio,' fostering her interaction with swings, and the video seeks to evoke this connection in the viewer. Set against the backdrop of Times Square, the piece contrasts the contemplative imagery of the swings with the chaotic stimuli of the urban environment, inviting viewers to experience a liminal desert space. This contrast amplifies the serenity and timelessness of the desert, offering a moment of reflection on the delicate balance between their inner worlds and the external demands of their surroundings.
