“IN BETWEEN” PROGRAMMING

WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN? is a video performance by Italian new media artists Veronica Liuzzi and Francesco Paolo Cosola, using International Sign Language (ISL) to address pressing environmental and global challenges. Scheduled for January at ZAZ10TS, the installation aligns with the spirit of the new year—a time to reflect, recalibrate, and commit to nurturing our planet and future generations. This work transcends traditional communication barriers, reminding us of the universal importance of listening—not just to one another, but to the earth we inhabit.

Through their artistic collective LIMPA, co-founded in 2020, Liuzzi and Cosola bridge art, science, and technology to explore urgent social and environmental issues. Their innovative approach to blending visual arts and digital media creates immersive installations and performances that dissolve boundaries between artist and audience, inspiring reflection and reimagining the relationship between humanity and the natural world.

Showcasing this installation on the Times Square Billboard amplifies its message in one of the world’s most iconic spaces—a global crossroads of culture and diversity. Launching at the start of a fresh year, it serves as a powerful tribute to human resilience and a collective resolution to care for the fragile earth we call home.
