In Ofrat’s video works and video installations he enacts cultural archetypes while drawing from literary and mythological sources or creating his own "personal myths" as he calls them. Using canonic and/or fictional symbols and images he attempts to evoke a dialogue between the universal and the personal, the archaic and the present. The images he usually chooses for his works confirm contradictory poles that complement each other.
